Anyone Looking to Split a Room at the Challenge?

Anybody book a room at the host hotel already and want half of it paid for?  Anybody not book yet but want to go halfsies?  I'm in the second category.

I don't snore (I'm pretty sure, anyway) and promise to use the lobby bathroom if I have to drop a truly heinous deuce.

Bumping this back up. Short of a hurricane between Biloxi & Gainesville on/near the Challenge weekend I’ll be there & still need a room. Anyone still looking to split one?

Klodcrawler and I are in discussions. His motley crew from michigan may have fallen apart and I was moving to a role just to support him with my heart not in it and being not overly invested anymore. 

I heard rumor the hotel is booked. So if our plans fall I will happily transfer our reservation to someone else. Just wanted to put that out here on the forum if someone needs it.

Daylan was supposed to crash with us too so he needs to be in the conversation as well. 

We're not waving the white flag yet, but Klodcrawler is looking over stuff on his end and I'm willing to eat my outbound plane flight cost and bail on the weekend. 

Dang, it's booked already? Guess that solidifies my plan to sleep in the back of the car with the seats folded down.

It's best to call and confirm.  Online booking was closed for the weekend, but GRM has (had) a block of rooms set aside. Be sure to tell them you are trying to book with the GRM block of rooms.

Yeah, i hadn't confirmed that with them which is why I said rumor and wanted the offer out there before I outright cancel the reservation.

Yep, I booked Friday morning 9/20.  They still have GRM rooms.

Anyone looking to split a room? Bueller, Bueller...anyone???

I probably should book one this week. I don’t particularly want to sleep in the woods behind the hotel.

Better check that, Tom. I just got off the phone with the hotel- they are out of space in your reserved block. (At least that’s what the front desk told me)

We'll take a look and see if we can open up another block if the current one is all booked.

I saw this post and freaked out. I just got off the phone, I was able to reserve a king bed but they said they were out of double queen rooms. Dunno if that's the block or the hotel or what. 

Anyway, in terms of this thread, I now have a room and will be sharing (a king bed, apparently) with my teammate, but if someone is in dire straights and wants to couch or roll-away it up let me know. 

Ok, 14 king rooms have just been added to our block. Once those are gone the hotel is sold out on Friday night, but still has a few rooms on Thursday and Saturday.

So I'm now planning to attend the Challenge as a casual observer and would like to share a room with someone to keep costs contained.  Anyone else have a bed open for a rarely-snoring traveler?  It sounds like I need to get something figured out quick if I want to stay in the same hotel as most everyone else.

I've never been to the Challenge before and have wanted to go observe this thing for a long time.
