Get a real factory race car for less than Challenge money!

Granted it is a Renault Alliance...

At 25 years old is an Alliance like this qualified for Vintage Racing?

Aside from the whole Renault-ness this car looks to be pretty 'track-ready."

that's pretty bad-ass, and looks like there's plenty of room between the shock towers....

If that car wasn't 3000 miles away, yes, I'd buy it. Thankfully, it is 3000 miles away.

Nashco has a trailer and is easily bribed

Also a road trip (fly out, drive back) would make a great article.

You know you want this

It's a long enough walk to Florida without pushing a Renault

Unfortunately, I'm not up for any adventures like that right now. I just sold the Soyburban to free up some driveway space and time is hard to find these days...I've got a challenge car to build!

Ever see the cars from the R5 Renault Cup?

I would go to Portland for one...

If Alliances weren't such crappy pieces of corn, I'd buy that.

Oh my, the topic of Renault race cars force me to shamefully acknowledge what I own, and the fact that it sits alone in the garage, almost totally untouched...

The interior is so angular, I am surprised they kept the wheel round!

I have also contemplated this, why?

Lots of road courses up here in a fairly small radius plus tons of drag strips. It's like a little racing "micro-climate" here. LOTS of old race cars, sports cars, and what not come out of the woodwork here. Last year they found the prototype AMX/3!

I think also there is something about the whole Portland vibe that makes you want to dd a Volvo 122 or something. Of course if you dd a 122 you're race car will be equally as eccentric.

I don't see your 53 car, although there's a red 53 driven by Dan Hill though. Did yours spend any time in SCCA IT? I recall seeing a few survivors here in SEDIV back when I started working corners..they ran in ITC, I think.

^Cool. Those little Renault 5's barreling around a racetrack look almost as comical as Citroen 2CV's battling it out.

Renault or no, that is a clean car for the money. If it were in Michigan I'd probably be very tempted.

the punchy GTA engine is an easy swap too. If it doesn't already have it.
