You guys are pros at finding cars that run under $2000. Help me find my first car for that price. I'm in Jacksonville NC and willing to drive two hours in any direction for the right car.
Budget: $2000 or less
Musts: Be driveable and pass inspection, if needed (1994 or older doesn't need inspection here.)
Needs:
Fun, Reliable, Easy to work on
Wants: Manual Transmission, Lots of aftermarket, No rust

Wow you're right. Not much around you. I had to expand up to $2500 in hopes you could talk them down.

The other two are possibilities. If I can talk them down. But yeah, there isn't E36 M3 around me. Everything is overpriced, beat to hell, or not for sale, only trades.

I emailed him. I'm also looking into 3 different 2002-2004 Civic Si Hatches. Some are a little rough, body wise, but mechanically sound.
I know it's hard but wait and watch the classifieds on this site. In under a month someone will post something really cool that meets your criteria.
And theres a chance its been decently maintained too

captdownshift has an unnatural addiction to the Mazda BP engine especially in its fwd format.
Cool on the Miata. I’d ask about going to look at it before they list it. That way you have first crack at it.

Haha so accurate. Though I definitely enjoy them in the NA Miata as well, I just fit in the BG chassis better (especially with a helmet).
