Singleslammer came over and helped immensely today.   The car now drives, has coolant in it and a radiator mount and front bumper bar thing.  I also mocked up the important bull bar.  

This may have to stick around.   

we took it for a drive and it's kinda silly.  But it importantly does drive.  I'll get some outdoor pictures if it ever stops raining

Okay the promised outdoor pictures.

The fenders are just literally resting on the car so alignment and final position are sus.  I am really not a fan of that back end.  But I have a plan for that.  

Budget for a "finished build" on those 15×9s with some spacers to take the wheels out to the body width, with the rollbar will be right at $975 without taking the Miata negative on recoup which is definitely a possibility.   Turbos and plug and play speedyefi are being discussed with the other $1000.  

I think it's likely that the BDT will tinker away at this for the next 12 months and it will also wind up at the 2026 challenge in addition to my Indy-T.  I'd like to run it at a gambler on some off-road tires as well.

Also, the SpeedyEFI is so hot right now.

We're considering it for the Volvo too.

I've already got one burning a hole in my pocket...

Things are still developing some on this.  On the way to pick up the LS400 donor for the 2026 build some $200 rims popped up in a town along the path of travel.  

The rims are not for me (though they are cool, you will see them soon on someones car).   But what I wanted was the Tires.  So an agreement was made between me and the party interested in the rims and I grabbed them on the way.

The tires are not super full tread but they should be fine to use for a bit and see what this looks like in an "offroad" mode.  

Also while at Singleslammers we dug (literally for one of them) a set of Mazda 2 15" steel wheels out of his shed.  There was a alarmingly long snakeskin draped over the wheels.    I will move the 215's over to the Mazda 2 wheels after I paint them tan or off white.  

I will get a picture of the Mazda 2 rims but here is the 215 next to a 225..  this will be meaty.
