I was thinking about this recently. I'm thinking I will end up taking the route of most challenge contenders. Get the thing built for the first year. Refine it and go a little "crazier" for the 2nd year.
Your part is the "crazier" part. That doesn't change my timeline of when I can get those pieces from you.
Drove the car a few more times over the weekend.
Gotta figure out the issue with no speedometer. It is likely causing other issues...
Like power steering light is on and it sometimes has full boost and sometimes a bit less. Gets a little exciting trying to turn in on an on ramp for example.
I recharged the AC, but it seems to turn off under most conditions. It absolutely will not run the compressor if I have the fan setting on 4. Which seems weird to me. Gotta dig into this a bit further.
Also, this guy really likes this car for some reason... he a weird bird!

The bird is pissed that another bird (his reflection) is in his territory.
A few years ago, I had a red bird that would spend hours attacking mirrors on vehicles in the yard. I ended up covering the mirrors with painters' tape for a few days, and he moved on.
Protege5 had a fan switch gremlin with certain speeds cutting compressor off. Google should show if the three does as well
Same thing happened with us last year and we tied plastic grocery bags to our mirrors for a couple weeks. Disgusting mess they leave.

That bird appears to me to be a piliated woodpecker. For better or worse.

This is a great car to rehab, they drive so well.
It's been a number of years since I owned one. IIRC, and I probably don't, there are pushpins needed to keep the front wheel well liners attached at the bottom (by the subframe rail). Check that spot for the plastic rubbing at speed.
Glad you got the vacuum leak resolved, I just read this thread for the first time and was screaming to myself as you were checking everything but.
For the motor mount, it's the large passenger side mount that fails. I recommend replacing with a Mazdaspeed3 mount (if budget allows)

Thanks!
I drove it around the other day and taught a buddy of mine how to drive a manual with it.
It does car things pretty well! Just needs more loving.
