I was talking to someone in the hotel parking lot about the Megan racing ebay wing, and how as delivered it isn't very good. But all you have to do is lay it back about 10 degrees, and it improves significantly.
Here's the page of the thread with more details if you're still interested.
a) it wasn't me
b) I've been learning of late (i.e. around march?) that I should probably take any of the 2D calculations from Javafoil and scale them by 20% to get values that are consistent with xfoil... which seems to have more 'realistic' Clmax numbers. but, Javafoil can do some things that xfoil can't... so it's convenient to apply the 20% 'adjustment' sometimes. ymmv

yeah, I think as 'absolute values' its a bit hard to trust something like java foil. but in terms of comparing the relative performance of two different setups, I think it is a great tool. Especially for the price!

KyAllroad? Or maybe the pro driver with the big ole beard? They were both there for that convo, I didn't catch the driver's name.
It was me and Mike Casino. We talked about EBay wings a bit. This was a couple years ago me (sporting glorious porno stache) mounting a wang on our King of the Heap BMW. Team Big Manly Wangs!
In reply to KyAllroad :
yeah, that second element is definitely in the wrong place/angle
also, when comparing the data in Javafoil, don't forget the air will create an in-flow angle ~similar to the rear angle of the rear glass... in the above example. open cockpit / cage cars, being a whole other level of possible complication.
