GM "small" FWD was 5x100 (same as most subes IIRC)
GM "big" FWD was 5x115. i'm pretty sure you can't just pick a spot in between....
LMAO....a slip of the finger really makes me look dumb! Yes it is the 115! Now if you ask my wife picking something in between and that isn't an option is perfectly logical....
Divide by 2 to get the spread because the difference is spread of the diameter of the bolt pattern. Go ahead and check the W-Body forums for yourself though. There's guys running 5x114.3's since the cars were new without problem...
I should point out that the above is a 5x4.75 (5x120.65) on a new GTO (5x120) which is a difference of .65MM/2. Here's the math:
What is the different of 120 and 120.65? First the different is haft or .325 mm at the lug. How thick is this?
3.25 millimeter = 0.012 inch
The paint on your car is thicker then different between 120 and 120.65 bolt pattern.
The line made by a ball point pen is thicker!
You couldn't tell the different between a 120mm hub and a 4.75 inch hub without special tools.

lol I was just being picky. Even if the argument about the spread being the difference split in half was true (which i'd beg to differ that its not) it'd still be wrong...
I know where you can get 18x8 5x114.3 +33 offsets for $225 for a full set....

Bolt pattern is measured as a diameter. 115-114.3 = .7 The radius (from center of hub to center of lug hole) would be 57.5 for the 115 and 57.15 for the 114.3. 57.5 - 57.15 = 0.35mm
0.35mm = 0.01377952755907" or less then 1/64th of an inch. That's less then the thickness of a business card.
If the wheels didn't say the pattern on them and you didn't know which hub you were looking at you would have no way of telling which wheel was "right". They are that similar.
I agree. But I don't agree that .35 and .3 are the same. "The same" and "practically the same" are different. And I'm also noting that its not going to be an even spread with half the distance on each side of the lug, so youre not going to have .35 on each side of the lug to start with. Unless I'm missing something.
