Sad face emoticon here
All gone, sold, buh bye and all that.
I bought this over the summer, haven't had time for it and have other projects in front of it. You can read my abortive build thread http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/1969-datsun-roadster/88443/page1/ for what I know about it and I will take $2000 or partial trade for something funish; I.e. dual purpose, quad, pickup truck, jeep, miata, etc.

Since the forum doesn't recognize yahoo for pm my addy is vdblyou at yahoo.

Those pictures might be hiding things, but if not, impressively solid for the the rust belt.
You've got my interest, both for me and for my father. Please, do post more about this car. He had one years ago and has always pined away for it.
Any interest in a Spitfire as trade fodder? Bad weather and busy time of year, but I could put a Spitfire on the trailer and pull a Datsun 2000 home.
Not perfect but solid for a Midwest car, it came up from Tennessee in 01ish and was from Arkansas/Missouri prior to that. It does have rust.

Do you have pics of the rust infected areas? How's the drivetrain, suspension, steering, brakes...
I brought it home, put it in the garage and moved it bay to bay. That's why that project thread is so lively lol.

Brakes work, steering is tight, don't know about the trans or rear. The engine is frozen up, it was never used after a pretty extensive rebuild years ago so it probably needs the bores honed. I'll snap some pics tonight or tomorrow but I can say that the battery tray is rusted out(this is part of the inner fender) and there is bubbling in the quarters on both sides.
Memories ...
Miami 1973 or thereabouts, we were putting together a grassroots effort to field a 2000 at Sebring.
We being a trio of racefriends.
Had the car, had a couple of motors, even had sponsorship lined up
to cover tires, entry fees, etc.
Nissan was going to kick in some $$ and parts.
Was towing the car from one shop to another to get work done, had a flat tire on the trailer, no spare.
Came back 30 minutes later, AND IT WAS GONE
Oh well. That's as close to driving Sebring as I ever got.
So much want . . .so little money . . .
Yeah, me too. Lol
Any trades need to be for something useable, I've proven over and over that it won't get done if it hasn't been driven.
Bump, I walk by it three times a day but still haven't taken pics of the rust. Anyone still interested?

I'm interested. I've always wanted to build one of these Datsun roadsters.
Is it still available?
Yeah, it's still here. Email me if you want more info.

Still such a good looking little car
I've owned 2 of these. They are great cars.
mmm mmm mmm! So much want. I'm quite surprised this hasn't sold yet. I might email you today.
Stop showing up so I can stop checking to see if it's gone.
Thanks guys, I'd like the small space back to build some hot wheels or something...lol.
I bought my first roadster because all the reasonably priced Z's were cancerous and had the heads in the trunk (head gaskets).
Now the Z pricing is thru the roof and once again the roadsters look good to me......
I can't believe that decent roadsters haven't jumped in price; I'm betting on them being the next big jump. They are junk or nice with very little in between.
