I AM POSTING A 1988 FIERO. ITS AN ORIGINAL FORMULA. I HAVE REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A BRAND NEW CRATE ENGINE. HAS NEW CLUTCH,NEW WHEELS,TIRES,STARTER,DISTRIBUTOR,PLUGS,WIRES,TONS OF NEW.CANT REMEMBER ALL. I BOUGHT IT FOR MY DAUGHTER 4 YEARS BACK AND THEN TORE IT DOWN IN HOPES OF GIVING IT TO HER AS HER FIRST CAR. IT IS MISSING 2 PIECES TO RUN THAT I CANT FINE. ONE IS A VACUUM LINE AND THE OTHER IS A DIODE TYPE UNIT UNDER THE DISTRIBUTOR. IT HAS BEEN COMPLETED TO THAT POINT FOR 3 YEARS. I ONLY RAN IT 20 MINUTES AT MY SHOP SINCE THOSE 2 COMPONENTS ARE KEY TO RUNNING.
IT ALSO NEEDS A NEW BATTERY. I MAY KEEP IT BUT DECIDED TO PUT IT UP FOR SALE TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. LET ME KNOW.
Does his reason for not running sound kosher? I guess so if you use pictures of it covered in snow

I don't know. I mean, the only easier fix would be "my car doesn't run. It just needs gas in the tank." I suspect he has NO idea why it won't run.

You have the skills to replace an engine, but can't make it run because of a "diode thing"?
I'm more interested in the vacuum line issue. Umm, NAPA anyone.

At the same time, it looks like a reasonably clean 88 Fiero (the best year with the updated suspension) for less than Challenge money. Makes me ponder talking a guy I know into building another TDI Fiero...
That car plus the supercharger and the MS I have on the shelf and we have a challenge car. All I need is a team and time to do it.
if its solid underneath and has something that resembles an interoir, thats not a bad price.
