make that not coming out... do I need to remove the starter? it has a "Dowel Pin" is that holding things up?

A: got trans out... now cutting off pressure plate bolts....
B: Eating cheeto's right now tastes like 10w30... and I am continuing to eat them... is that bad?
ahh, that makes more sense now...
I am at the point where everything is torqued down and ready to go back in... I am hoping to have the tranny back in and all the bolts torqued today... (dark in 3 hours) and then reattach driveshaft, exhaust, and undertrays tomorrow morning... :)
Easy...just like the instructions say.
"Installation is the reverse of removal."
Sorry, no help really :)

I get a twitch when I see those words
it would be easier if I could lift the damn thing on my own... I just can't manage to get it the combined high enough and straight enough... GRRR!
try to jack up the front of the motor as much as you can so the trans can be installed on an angle.
and get someone to help you! holding a trans in place with one hand and fumbling with the mounting hardware with the other is a huge PITA
got the motor tilted... managed to get it high enough, now I can't get it all the way in... I lined everything up with an alignment tool when I installed it... but it's seeming like it's getting all the way into the friction plate splines, and then missing the pilot bearing.... any tricks there?

two floor jacks under trans, one at front and one at rear. that way, you can tweak the height and the angle independently. keep trying.
then walk away and come back a couple hours later. sometimes walking away is the key step in the process.
1: Moar beer
2: Biggar hammer
3: When all is broken give remaining bits to QuasiMofo for a Chevy V8 swap.
got beer... got two jacks... slid right in! :)
all that's left is the exhaust, and torquing all the driveline bolts down (driveshaft support and trans support bolts)... then the heatsheilds... slave cylinder... and (fingers crossed!) I should be able to drive it tomorrow morning!
okay, okay, literally the last damn thing on the car... I cannot get the forward exhaust manifold pipe on... I have tried EVERYTHING! I just cannot force it into place!
got it.... car is out and driving... second gear grinds like all hell unless it's started in second....
anyone have a cheap hookup on an e36 getrag 5 speed?!
