http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/3633554536.html 1979 chevy sierra classic 35 series 2WD 1-ton dually.Former wrecker truck and pit vehicle from the New Hampshire International Speedway!Wrecker bed was apparently removed some years ago still has traces of where it was welded and bolted down.Still has spotlight intact and stick from the speedway on window.Body has less than 100k but the 454 was built .060 over to 468 CI and runs awesome,roller rockers,cam etc!Has approx. 5,000 miles on it.Turbo 400 trans rebuilt,new brakes,steering box,fuel pump,780 quickfuel double pumper carb,full length headers,6 brand NEW radial tires!double sunroof,battery,shocks,brand new windshield,bench seat with folding center console etc etc...a couple of patch panels were installed to cover a few rust thru's but truck is very solid!Needs some bodywork and tlc but a great truck with a history!Have 5 min video online but not sure if I can put the link on here...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjXOWWS6m2c .....1900.00.....

around here the engine alone is worth just about his asking price. I wouldn't bet on it being a 468 and all that jazz. It might be. It might not be. In any case, a running 454 brings about that price in most markets.

Make sure you can afford to own it. Our next door neighbor had a mid '70's 454 dually crew cab. A gorgeous truck. Towing a horse trailer it got 3. YES THREE! mpg. He didn't have it long.

Agree on the engine price. Although my 78 454 crew cab dually gets a solid 8mpg towing my 10k lb tractor. Either way the mileage sucks and the truck rocks!
