When I saw that and I automatically thought that not only would I have to be weary of common road hazards while driving, I would also have to watch out for kamakaze pilots

must be that new detailers mud on the tires.
But still that's a sweet beast, tempting to just have a fleet of 78 Ford wagons around here.
I emailed...not that I need it. Or have a place to garage it. Or the money to buy it. But damn I miss the '77 Country Squire we had when I was a teenager.
My best friend in high school had a 77 just like that. He got a $99 Earl Scheib black paint job and some rattle-can window tint. It was a poor man's hearse.
That is soo cool, man I'd love it.

Was that Martin? I can't imagine how bad a $99 black paint job would be, a $99 white maybe, but black! OMG I bet it was aweful. Do you have pics?

Yes, it was. It was even better because he pulled the side moldings off and bondoed over all the holes. So every foot or so there was a divot. I don't have any pics, but he might.
I had a friend with a red '74 Camaro who got the $99 Earl Sheibe job to paint it blue. When he got it back it was blue with a red circle at the top of the trunk lid because they had taped off the base of his CB antenna instead of spending 30 seconds unclipping it.
We used to tell him to avoid puddles or the blue would wash off like in Used Cars.
