I think that might be overpriced for a grand.

Why do I feel like it's perfect for a Corvette rat rod? Like, leave the body, fill it all fulla motor, go real fast?

I'm not in any position to do so, but isn't this perfect Challenge fodder? Even with the automatic this should be a good starting point.
If by "13b" you really mean "20b" then yes, I agree.
If by 20b you mean 26b then yes, I agree.

You mean you don't like the color?
It would fit right in parked on my street.
Big block + plasiti-dip = Challenge car.....

A buddy of mine bought a 1k c4 vette, and as sad as it sounds this one looks to be much nicer.
Looks like I scammed mine away at the right time.... suckers! wait.... lol
I wonder if it has a handling package.
16 hours one way... hmm yeah that's a little to far for me to drive for a 1k car. Balls.

Well, no on that last part. Chevy used a truss between the trans and rearend starting in '81ish instead of separate crossmembers, an idea Mazda ran with and called the powerplant frame. The tail end of the trans is all goofy. (One more example of Mazda copying Corvette stuff...)
One of my friends had an oops while pulling the engine from his '84, breaking the top half of the bellhousing clean off. It was easier to get the trans welded back together (!!!) than it was to find a Vette trans case.

nothing different on the case. the tailshaft housing is the different part, and they interchange on all 700r4's.

I see you six and call with 12.
In reply to Knurled:
Duly noted, any easy workaround, like GM GMed it and left normal crossmember mounts in place?
