I am gearing up for the future. As a result, a bunch of projects are for sale.
The 1975 Datsun 280Z was going to be our $2007, then $2008 project. It is not the Red $2006 Challenge car. This Z ran over 155 mph and coasted to a clocked 142. It went 11.02 at 127+ in 84% air density conditions with exhaust, street tires, a 1.76 geared PG trans and mild 350. This was also with the modified IRS that I set up with 2 1/2" springs. FWIW, it ran 1.56 60' times and will pull the tires in the right conditions. I am selling it with no E&T, or exhaust, or weld wheels. It does not have a title. It is a race car with a roll bar installed. Also, spare factory 180R rear and half shafts. The car has very litle rust and is straight. Custom hood. Asking $500
If someone can help me post some pictures, I have two older pis from when it was together.
Send the pics to me, Andy. I'll get them up in this thread lickety-split.
Andy, this one of the pics?

Or is it a different car?
Yes, and there is another pic from the same event with the boys.
If you were closer... (like we all haven't heard this before...) I'd buy this.
Sigh.
Thanks for the offer Tom. Carson posted one of the few pics I have. Obviously outdated, both boys are taller than me.
This is a running car for $500?! A FAST running car?
Andy, if I hadn't moved to Boston and I had a garage for it this would already be sold. Good luck!

It's not a running car. The ad says no engine, trans, exhaust, or wheels. I'd imagine you could call it a roller if you brought some wheels.
Still an awesome deal. I'm thinking about it too. Getting it here would be the hassle. Hmmm, I do live directly between Andy and Maxton...
No, not a running car, its a roller. I owned it until my wife and I split (was going to be my 2010 Challenge car)then it went back to Andy. Let me tell you, someone is about to get a VERY good deal!! Run boys dont walk!! This is an AMAZING start to a winning Challenge car! Andy and crew did Very nice work on it!
It has wheels and tires. The welds are what is not included.
I can't believe this thing hasn't sold yet. Andy's a hell of a fabricator and welder. The cage alone is probably worth the asking price.
Is this the blue one that was in the upper level of the barn on my last trip out?

Just agreed to sell car. Will post with price and parts when it is picked up, in order to provide documentation for a new Challenge competitor.

And now the parts hunting begins. Have all the parts for the car but need to complete SBC build to test the limits of that rear end. And I need to learn to autox. Should be fun to thrash in Florida. Thank you Andy. I can't wait to see the car and get started on my build. I know the quality of your work.

Oh good, now I don't need to worry about that temptation.
