Anyone local to Kingston, Massachusetts 02364 looking for an IRS VW transsaxle built for drag racing/performance street racing? We bought two of them, one for the car, one as a back-up but never had the need to install the second one. High R&P would make extended highway driving a noisy chore, taller tires would mitigate that and make the close ratios kinda fun.

It was built primarily for the quarter mile with gearing set-up so that all four gears were closely placed and could be used before the quarter mile point was reached. The stock VW transaxle gearing always made the third-to-fourth shift kind of unnecessary or risky. With this transaxle all of the gears can be used to full advantage.

It was built, boxed, shipped, and never installed. Always held aside as a spare if needed. The specs are missing, hence the low price. If I remembered what we ordered it would cost close to what we paid, the info is lost, so just consider it as a built-up close ration drag transaxle and figure that the low buy-in price is a gift.

No shipping on this one, just drop by and grab it. $250 obo.

Thanks,

TC
