Any die hard air cooled VW folks looking for a project? I have nearly all of the parts and pieces to put together a neat air cooled VW based racing/track/autocross/LoCost-style/car.
Parts list includes:
Single seat rail dragster chassis and with front end. Close ratio built-up VW transaxle. Axles with CV joints. HD custom rear diagonal arms. Front and rear brake assemblies. Kirkey aluminum racing seat with blue cover. Custom competition shifter. Shift rod. HD urethane shift coupler. HD urethane transaxle mounts. Steering wheel and shaft. Steering box and tie rods. Steering dampener. Brake lines. Gauges and tach. Pedal cluster. Sheet aluminum for dash board. Battery cut-off and dash switches. Electric fuel pump and regulator. Remote oil filter and cooler assembly. Fuel pump block-off plate with case vent. 10 inch wide rear wheels and slicks. 8 Spoke alloy front wheels with tires.
A couple of pics below, but you'll have to come by to see the rest. No shipping, obviously. Like to sell locally so that I can go through all of the parts and pieces with you.
Like to get $700 or just your best offer for everything. Lots of stuff, but lots of work as well. I'll never get to it, maybe someone will.
A fresh/never run 1835 VW engine is available separately as well if interested, the specs on that include:
German AH dual oiler case. Stock crank. Engle VZ cam and lifters. Chromoly push rods. 92mm pistons and barrels. Berg straight cut timing gears. Mag 44 big valve ported heads. Racer spacer. New German bearings and gaskets throughout. Aluminum valve covers. Lightened flywheel. HD clutch and pressure plate. Side-outlet header. J tubes. HD/HV oil pump. Billet dual outlet pump cover. Billet fuel pump block off plate with vent. Billet Berg oil filler/filter tower. And more . . . .
I ALSO have a fiberglass Bradley II GT body coming in. Windshield is cracked, but the top and rear "fast back" section could easily be cut off making for a pretty neat track/race/drag car body shell. This is available for low bucks as well. A neat addition to the chassis project. If anyone would rather go with a lighter body, I have a Berry Mini-T fiberglass body as well. Looks like an insane person described a T-Bucket HotRod (from memory) to another insane person, and they both got what little was left of their minds together and built that vision out of fiberglass. Make a sweet drag or autocross body, but might be a bit nuts for a track car.
If anyone is looking for another life, I've got the parts and pieces to help you on your journey . . .
Thanks,
TC
