This is mine, and it's been in the family since new. I'll get into a very detailed history below, but here are the basics:
$1500 located in 60963
1988 Chevy 1/2-ton Scottsdale. 305 V8, 700R4 auto trans. 177kmi on the truck, less than 50kmi on the engine, newer used transmission that I've put about 2000mi on. Mobil-1 used continuously since this engine was installed. The truck is very mechanically sound and has been maintained over its 25-years.
The good - runs/starts/drives fine, in very good condition for its age(It's 25-years old and can be plated as an antique here in IL!). It's never been abused, and has always been maintained. The CB works great.
The bad - there's rust above the wheel wells and the back bumper is almost gone. The rest of the truck is very solid though. The tailgate doesn't latch any more, but the latch from the topper will keep it closed. However, the lock for the topper doesn't work. The A/C started blowing warm this summer, I believe it is still on the original charge. The radio doesn't pick up any stations, but it works, so I think it's a problem with the antenna. I had to splice in new brake line running to the back over winter, and I didn't get the brakes bled completely, so the pedal is a bit mushy(I may have this fixed soon, depending on the weather). The hitch really isn't suitable for pulling heavy loads.
I have the center caps and trim rings that aren't installed on the stock wheels.
FULL DETAILED HISTORY:
Grandpa bought this truck new in late-87. He'd been diagnosed with lung cancer and was dying, and wanted grandma to have a new truck. In hindsight, this was silly for 2 reasons 1.) She had a 72 Catalina in the garage with 13000mi that still smelled new, and 2.) She'd had a couple small strokes while grandpa was sick, so she couldn't really drive anyway. He had the topper, running boards, CB, and carpet in the bed installed when new.
While grandpa was still alive, on a trip to Wisconsin in 1988 to visit my uncle, he hit an orange construction barrel, tearing up the front right fender. He had it replaced, but the paint was always a bit lighter than the rest of the truck.
Grandma didn't really drive the truck after grandpa died in February of '89, and within about a year my parents ended up with the truck. They had another car and didn't drive much anyway, so the truck was mostly unused.
Mom took the truck with her when she moved to Florida after Dad died, which would have been around '98. She had a new engine installed at the Chevy dealer around this time at 126kmi because she thought it was using too much oil. It has had nothing but Mobil-1 in it since then. The transmission went out on a return trip from visiting in '03, and she had it rebuilt at the Chevy dealer. I also overhauled the brakes while she was visiting.
I got the truck when Mom died in '04 with 155kmi on it at that time. I gave it plugs and wires when I got it home, and ended up re-doing the front brakes due to a dragging caliper. I put on a new muffler and turn-down before the rear axle in '06, a new battery in '07, replaced the transmission in '10, and replaced most of the brake hard-lines last year.
