yup. spider's prettier, but you have more money left over for tires and engine mods with the fiat.

X1/9 would be an easier swap as you're going from one transverse setup to another. I believe the 850 had a VW style north/south transaxle.

Also, that X1/9 looks like a pretty clean car for the price. (relatively speaking of course)
