Man, it's hard to tell whether it's the glare or the glass that stops just past the curve...
Why? Why would my brain expend energy on wanting something so ridiculously not worth thinking about? Rusty, half-gone trucks on the wrong side of the country? Why even bother having a pang of desire?
So apparently someone DOES repro windshields for these things...they're not cheap, but they're actually not as expensive as I would have anticipated.

One of those plus the chassis from under any rat trap class A motorhome plus a nice ramp bed and you have an amazing tow vehicle for challenge bucks. Bonus is the Onan generator for the track and beer fridge for the shop.

I certainly haven't seen 'em running around. I'm not sure I've seen one in person since my dad didn't buy it 30 years ago, when we lived in S.F..
I'm still a little disappointed.
My uncle had two FCs, though I don't remember if they were 150s or 170s. He owned a lawn mower shop. One was a shop truck and the other was his plowing rig.
Those must have been fantastic plow trucks. You would sit right over the plow and could see what was going on and how close you were to non-snow objects.

I don't know what effect it would have on plowing, but I gather they're very nose-heavy. As in having a bunch of pig iron at the back so they don't endo under braking...
I could be very, very, very wrong about that. It comes from recollections of going to look at one as mentioned above when I was ~10-12 years old... So, combine 30 years of memory fog with info coming from a Previous Owner (well, just Owner at the time...)
EDIT: I didn't make it all up, though it's still unclear whether it's true...

I've seen a couple clean ones around town. I like 'em, but I'm a little off.

I've always wanted one of these. I used to have a Dodge A100 and this seems like the "big brother" (by another mother) to the Dodge. I would need to modernize the engine, though. I can't abide underpowered vehicles any more.
The 9' bed is a cool feature.
I absolutely believe that these were massively nose heavy. The A100 was nose heavy, so much so that driving in the snow (I was young and even dumber) was a major challenge even compared to other 2wd pickups.
