Not mine but somewhat associated. This is owned by a friend and also a multiple time GRM challenge competitor.
You can see my spare Yugo in the background (which is being parted )

Crap.
Can't resist.
Can you put me in touch with this purveyor of German utility foolishness?
My first car was a Splitty. I've gotta have one again some day.
The good news is that if you put it in your shop, it has WAY more horizontal space than any of your other cars...makes for a much better shelf.

HA. I do need a shelf for my massive pile of Yugo parts...

Pretty sure a 360 would fit very nicely!
That VW is cool, but it is trying REAL hard to return to the earth. I'm not sure I'd want to get in its way.
One thing I noticed in the ad - your guy says up front "I'm not a haggler." I like that. I like to haggle, some people don't and that's okay. Being up front about it lets me as a potential buyer know how to approach the deal.

Say what worthy for sure

They make all the replacement metal you need, its just a cut and weld job, not that bad. If you are willing to pay $$ for the "green" panels (so named for the green primer put on them) they are exact fit and go on very easy, the normal replacement panels will require the usual tweaking.
In reply to JThw8:
Did you look?
There's NOTHING left to weld to once the rust is removed.
If I wanted to build a Splitty entirely from replacement panels, that would be...
...kinda pricey.
I've seen worse restored. Hell, by MI standards, that's a few brake lines and a used engine away from driveable!
In reply to 93EXCivic:
Is this car in Cullman?
I'll be in Birmingham on Sunday AM picking up the Lotus.
Wouldn't mind looking at it.
oh gawd.

I was within 30 minutes of it, but it was raining hard, I was towing, and my wipers died. I decided 30 minutes out of my way was not worth driving.
Saved by the rain.
Good donor for a kit car! I keed, I keed. Man that is seriously cool, but I can't imagine the skill, time and money you'd need to even think about resurrecting that. Zombie Jew at Passover has nothing on a resurrection of that scale.
This looks like something that should have a Monte Carlo chassis put under it, and converted to mid-engine
Seriously, though, I'd be tempted to do something like that, do only the rust repair needed to get it going, then just wipe it down every now and then with a rag soaked in oil in order to slow the rust down...
