82 3rd Gen Camaro race car for sale

Car was built as a race car 15 years ago for A sedan. I picked it up after a on track wreck, body was straightened, I fixed bodywork, replaced front crossmember and converted it to CMC1 spec.

I have a title for the car.

I did not run it in CMC1 and its not getting easier so I am moving it on.

Cage is solid and appears to be legal.

Wiring is fantastic, very well done, fire system, oil accumulator, kirkey seat, autometer guages. Fuel cell and harnesses are installed but out of date.

Koni shocks all around, heavy duty lowered springs, adjustable rear links, T5 trans, light flywheel and new clutch.

9 Bolt Aussie rear end, LSD and 3.42 ratio, stronger than 10 bolt and rear discs.

Front brakes are 4th generation rotors and calipers.

16" OEM rims to clear the brakes, extra set available.

305 engine was rebuilt to CMC1 spec, including intake, carb, exhaust and cam, however the engine has a problem and I think it has at least knocked a lobe off.

Body is non sunroof, black, Z28 kit and factory fiberglass hood.

$2000 GRM price. Extra caged shell also available

engine issue(beyond that it's a 305)

if the current crop of wanters bows out, i should probably insert myself in line here, but shouldn't at the same time

Beyond the engine and out of date items it is ready to run in competition

I've responded. I'm not in line at all as I'm 90% sure what little voice of reason I have left will say no to another project.

This car sounds like a lot of fun for the price.

Do you think it is merely in need of a new cam and lifters? (victim of the low zinc/phosp level changes in the oil).

Just how "streetable" is it?

Depending upon your local DOT inspection rules it is very streetable

Possibly or it needs more, we looked inside and thought it was fine but it will not run right at all and backfires through the carb.

The engine was a fresh rebuild with new parts, I am trying to thin a few out and decided to stick with my Fords and Mazdas
