So I own a Mazda RX8. The RX8 has a Power Plant Frame which ties the tail of the transmission to the differential. I am installing a Chevrolet V8 with some minor fun bits. Normally people delete the RX8 PPF or make a hodge podge rudimentary bracket. I know the 3rd and 4th gen use a similar axle location device. I also want to keep the far left pedal in the car. This all means that I want to install a Camaro transmission in my RX8. Sell me yours very cheap please oh I would also like your flywheel if it will enable a clutch to be present on a 1989 Chevrolet 5.7L.

I have many things to trade from a 2004 RX8, 1989 C2500LD, 2003 Miata if you are in need of such things!

(1994-2002 Camaro V6 transmissions will work with a V8 bellhousing and different clutch disc)

i just happen to have a new from gm 168t flywheel for a 1pc rear main 350 sitting on the shelf if you don't get everything in one shot.

I have a corvette 4+3 that might work as well, but it is huge at the rear of the transmission so fitment might be an issue.

The Corvette trans would be what you want, not the Camaro, no? The Camaro trans still uses a trans mount, and it has weeny little tabs for the torque arm mount. Corvettes have had "power plant frames" since 1979 or so up to the end of the C4s. The transmission doesn't have a mount, just the truss that goes to the nose of the diff, and vice-versa.

So what you need is a 4+3 or a ZF trans. Plus it is fun to say ZF.

I would be mounting it similarly to the Generals design in the RXh8
