That is weird I saw a brown 2 door pinto wagon for sale yesterday but it was pouring rain. I went back today to look and it was gone :\

My first car, well it was my fathers but he let me drive it, was a white '79 Pinto wagon(2300cc & 4-speed). Now that I'm older, I've been looking to buy another one for years. Can't find one anywhere here in the northeast that isn't rusty.

Some day......

I have visions of mostly leaving it alone, dent and all, and putting a mildish 302 and WC T5 in it. But that's clouded by the potential for having to deal with fire jokes every time I stop anywhere.

OMG, this is the car I spent my toddler and sub-10 year old years in. Same color, same body style, stick shift...don't recall if it's the exact same year, but if it's not it's within one. I used to ride around in the hatch whenever my parents would let me.

I'd grab a 2.3 duratec from a ranger, stock turbo and manifolds takeoffs from a Mazdaspeed3, a NC miata transmission, and controlled with a Megasquirt. But sure if an "it's already been done" 302 and T-5 is what tweaks your giblets, that's cool too.

My first girlfriend had one just like this, 4-speed manual and all. For her high school graduation present, her parents traded it in on a base Starlet with a 5-speed manual, blue with a light interior.

I'm on the opposite end of the country, and I still know what that thing smells like on the inside. Hint: not good. Yet, I want it. What is wrong with me?

How is that setup better than the 87-88 Turbocoupe driveline? (just curious, I genuinely wonder if this is an improvement)

Rig it to light off firecrackers from your key fob so when someone makes a crack you can scare the e36 m3 out of them.

Little bit of inspiration. Rowdy Turbo Coupe drivetrain results in massive burnouts and cops and firefighters being called.

Step one---- buy Pinto

Step two---- Immediately call Racer Walsh for speed parts!

How can you not love a company that races a purple Pinto?

I used Racer Walsh parts back in 1980 If I'm not mistaken he was in NY then??? Back then I had (ONLY new car purchase in my life!!) a 1980 turbo Capri w/orange Recaro interior, and the TRX suspension...

with Racer Walsh go fast bits added - their "street" spring, red Konis, their swaybar/bushing kit for the Fox body..... and a adjustable boost kit, w/alcohol-water injection

Good times.......
