Everything sold(not deleting post for challenge documentation purposes)

(SOLD)Vw rear hub to hub transaxle with suspension beam complete through the center up to the shifter.  Lots of new parts, porsche disk brakes, shocks, cnc hydro clutch slave, stainless brake hoses.  I believe this is a 4 rib transmission.  $400?  No idea what this stuff is worth.

(SOLD)staggered 17” 911 cup 2 wheels, believe replicas. One has a little rash and typical scratches on others for used wheels.  No center caps.  Sumitomo tires with low miles but around 8 years old.  $400?

(SOLD)also have some front parts.  I think they’re 924 lower arms, spindles, struts, complete brakes, and some year of 911 steering rack.  If anyone is interested i can try and get part numbers.

Just trying to zero out a future challenge build.

I'm interested in the steering rack. What are the numbers on the housing, and does the rack turn smoothly from lock to lock?

If memory serves

The rack is off a 69 911, it operated fine last time I saw it, Patrick can confirm.

The front suspension is 1983 944 with ground control coil overs on the struts.

Rear stuff, its a standard VW Type 1 IRS transaxle.  The rear brakes are from the same 83 944 and have the proper adapters to mate to a VW parking brake cable.

Thanks for the clarification.  I didn’t do anything yesterday it was over 90 out, i’m too insulated for that type of weather

i’ll be keeping the coilover sleeves and springs from the front, budget and whatnot.  I dug the car out Saturday to clean up around it and build a shelf over the trunk, and jam it back into the harbor freight garage without stuff sitting on top of/inside/next to it so i can walk.

I’m not totally familiar with VW parts, but is the transaxle assembly something that would work in a Super Beetle?

Thanks for the reply, but I will pass on the steering rack. I found out I can rebuild my 914 rack pretty inexpensively, so I'm going in that direction instead.

In reply to eastsideTim :

Looks like if car has IRS then easily, if swing axle it would require fabrication to convert but everything to do so is here.  The important thing is for it to go away so I don’t try and weld it to something and start looking for a 1600 vw engine

josh i will be sending wheel info and pictures later

Since he's workin on a super and he's gonna take the transaxle with the 944 brakes have him look at the front brakes too.  I seem to recall the 944 stuff is a bolt on for the super spindles (check my facts though its been 8 years since I last researched it)

Hmm, I did some research, and I guess there are a few custom parts, but not a lot to it.  Will have to figure out if it's worth it or not, since it won't be making a ton of power, at least in its first incarnation with me.  Might get Subaru-ized in the future, though.  I'll make sure to bring some extra cash with me tomorrow, just in case.
