Thanks, but I don’t think it shares much with the Spree. This is a 125cc water cooled four stroke.

I had a chance to buy 2-1/2 elite 125s last fall for $600cdn, but with an 81 gl1100, 79 cx500 and 01 KLR, I don't have the space/time. My homework suggests the elite 125 engines weren't used in anything else. That doesn't mean it doesn't share guts with other small Honda engines, just that it didn't look like anything would swap in directly or bolt on performance-wise. It was hard to turn down the offer what with the digital dash and pop-up headlight.
I rebooted my phone and pics work. Looking good!
I always remember your CT70 thread. Cant wait to see this one hanging from the rafters!

LOL! I think my nine year old nephew helped me put the engine in that thing when it was hanging from the rafters. He drives a Mustang GT convertible now!
I am a liar.
I thought I had a copy of the 1984 Honda Scooter brochure in my attic, but I was wrong.
I could only find 1985, 1986 and 1987.
I didn’t have a ton of time to spend on this thing yesterday. I just bought it and dragged it home.
The seller said that he had bought a new battery last year, but it was dead now. I pulled it out to throw it on the charger, but it looked disgusting. There was no liquid in it and I think It probably froze up over the winter. So, Amazon should have a new Yuasa on my doorstep by the time I get home for $40.
Time is tight, but I've started tearing this thing down to clean and inspect before I do anything mechanical.
It appears to be complete, and most, but not all, of the plastic seems to be in good shape. The rear brake is dragging, so that will be the first thing that gets addressed. I've ordered a factory shop manual, so I'm waiting for that to arrive before I dig in too deep.

And all these years, I thought this was the worst commercial of the 80's...
