I've determined that the C6 isn't a good winter car for two reasons. The hatch/trunk easily freezes shut and indexing side windows are hampered by the ice in the same way. You can get the door open, but then trying to close it without shattering the window is a little bit nerve racking. Right now I have my garage packed with motos for winter maintenance and the car was in a storage shed. Weather looked good for the forseeable future and I'm doing some things to the Motovan so I pulled the car out to drive it for awhile. It rained and froze on the car parked in my driveway. I hit the trunk release on the remote while walking out my front door as that's where I usually throw my backpack. The trunk released, but not enough to get my fingers under and I couldn't just push it closed again. It's not a good cold weather design. If it was in a garage it would have been fine, but you can't always get it in a garage. If it had rained and froze while at work, same result, for example.

Do you get a lot of attention driving a yellow car day to day, or is it not too big of a deal? I'm contemplating a C6 ZO6 as a daily driver, in a climate with its fair share of cool wet weather. I really don't want a black car, and most of the other ones out there are fairly loud colors. This thread has been pretty inspiring!

Short answer, no big deal. 90% of the driving public is oblivious even when I have my temporary numbers on the side and I'm towing my camper. Day to day, a few looks, a wave from another Corvette driver, a turned head on the sidewalk etc. It's no Lamborghini. I do really love the car though. The Z06 is awesome, there's no doubt. However, the 400hp LS2 will only let you legally wind out first and second. In the Z06, you're doing 70 mph in 1st gear. In hindsight, any C6 with a manual transmission would be a great sports car. I no longer recommend searching out the Z51 package. I've not driven a base C6 though so I could be wrong, but the brakes, springs and sway bars probably weren't as important to me as I thought they were. The slightly shorter final drive of the Z51 package hurts the highway mpg slightly too, Probably only one or two mpg though.
