Yes, the job situation is pretty good and gives me a good bit of Shop time. I changed the name of my YouTube channel from TheGreenVW to ItsBenModified. It was supposed to be seamless.......but I guess not. I have been overseas for several weeks now and have started experiencing Shop Withdrawal Syndrome : (

The gas and brake are both on the right hand side of the steering column just like the stock truck

no way! I had no idea they were like that.

This is VERY cool!

Looks like it should be pretty comfortable too, kinda like sitting in a Toyota pickup with the low seat, looks good, love the bead rolled stuff.

Started with a paper template

Tomorrow, finish fitting, run a few beads and weld in.

Ran the filler panels thru the English Wheel and started making some templates for mounting the new Bullet Shaped Chrome Headlamps

Ever think of using the stock bus headlamps in the upright position as they are on the Beetles of that year. Fabricate bucket to fit them in and maybe keep a bit of the original look/heritage?

More work for sure, but with a nice taper/more rounded cone shape to the bucket, could be sweet.

Just askin . . . barely worth mentioning.

I looked into it along the way. State law requires that the center of the headlight be no lower than 24". There is not enough room above or below the big V body line to fit any sort of stock size headlight and meet that requirement. The lights that I used are aftermarket dot approved motorcycle lights with built in turn signals. They are only 4" in diameter if I recall. There will be other styling elements added before it is all over. BTW, the photos are a bit deceiving. The cab sits so low that I can rest my elbow on the roof. I do plan to use the original headlights and buckets on my V8 Daihatsu Hijet. The stock square lights for the truck are no longer made and were quite unattractive. I have temporary hotrod rectangular lights installed now, but the round ones will look much better.

Awesome video on the shop, one day I hope to have a 1/4 of the space that you have just to dedicate to my work. Man I like the way this thing is coming together, I kinda wonder how you keep the momentum going with so many projects around. I like that every one of your projects are so very different and that the ideas are way outside the box which adds to the cool factor.
