IIRC that Challenge Jeep weighed about 2700 lb. That's not much more than my MINI CooperS and it had the Jeep six and a turbocharger. I'd think that combo would be heavier than an LS, especially an aluminum one. Ever since I first saw it I've had the idea that a lowered, swapped street XJ would be a hoot and a nice substitute for the distinct lack of hot hatches anymore. Have at it, Daylan !

Edit: I've also wondered what it would take to put an IFS in it.

As a former XJ owner and follower of the XJR build, I'm excited to see this. They are a great platform and way lighter than expected. The only big hurdle is the front suspension. There have been some creative workarounds, but I've never seen an IFS swapped into one. This should be a fun project.
