The 2 in the car were greatest country hits volume whatever and what I assume was a Hank Sr. recording. I like country and didn't recognize any of the names on the first tape.

One of my best friends writes traditional country citing Keith Whitley as his biggest influence. He's helped shaped my taste in country music quite a bit. I also like some new artist such as Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, and Brent Cobb.

I admittedly haven't really looked yet and I'm not near the car right now but where does the RPO sticker hide on these things?

My dad has an 02. If it makes you feel better he is absolutely the angel of death to cars, yet it wont die. Hundreds of thousands of miles of neglect and it keeps going. Rust is getting pretty bad now though.

And early to mid 90s GM cars owned by older women always smelled like egg salad floating in ethanol for some reason.

DTS is a handsome car, much nicer way to join this club than my abandoned Deville.

I did it, and it is at least partially your fault. I'm not sure why, but it is. Get outside and work on yours now.

Just got done putting 8 new plugs in it. Idling smoother now. Still on year old gas though.

All the old plugs looked about like this.

If I get this pig of a Deville running and presentable, we'll have to get a pic of the Caddies together.

So I remembered something. I pulled the #7 and #8 plug wires off of their coil to get access to the back bolt on that coil bracket. I don't think I plugged them back up before I started it to test it. If it ran as smooth as it did with 2 cylinders unplugged I think we might be ok. 

Annoyingly I'm at work now and won't be home until around 2am and it's supposed to be freezing rain and/or snow around that time. So it will be tomorrow at the earliest before I get to check and it's going to annoy the hell out of me until I do. 

Finally got a chance to check. I did in fact leave 2 plug wires off but it was #2 and #5. Now the problem is there is a sheet of ice over all the doors so I'm not going to chance trying to open any of them until it thaws. Kentucky weather is really being annoying this year.

Well this thread got forgotten. Time for an update. The more I messed with the car, all signs pointed towards a leaky head gasket. I was never in love with the car in the first place and only got into it out of curiousity because it was offered to me so cheap. So with no intention of turning it into a major project. I parked it in the corner and went back to other stuff.

And then I was looking through Instagram and saw the announcement for Cleetus and Cars Indy on April 18th. I told a friend about it and we determined the Northstar might survive a round at a time with some sort of head gasket fix in a bottle, so I offered him the car for demo drags. 

He's since become obsessed with 24 Hours of Lemons so the current plan is that if the car survives demo drags he's considering fixing the motor right, caging it and turning it into a Lemons car. 

I'm delivering the car to him Friday. Further updates with this car will probably be on his Youtube channel, Indiana Diesel. 

It's out of my hands and I won't see it again until I go back for the event. Exhaust was cut off within 5 minutes of unloading it.

New owner takes better cell phone pics than me.

This cars story isn't done yet. I'm just not the one funding it or making the decisions anymore. I'll make an attempt to keep this thread updated...or finally make my buddy make an account here finally and make him do it.
