The car ran a 13.9 with a poor 60’ and no water pump... with half a roof and no roll structure. It is as safe as betting on the Browns to win a game.

In reply to Pete Gossett :

The building was built in the 1890’s as an electric company and steam heat producing company. My family purchased the building and surrounding land around 1928. In the 1940s the basement was used to produce tank turrets. The upstairs was a beer distributor from the mid 1930-80s. After that it was used as “The Truck Shop” and yes they work on trucks and moved to a different facility. As the ice portion of the business expanded we use most of the building and as of 2001 no longer rent it out.

The heart of the RX7 lies within this van on the back of my trailer. Trailer didn’t like the van much, had to drive 60 mph the whole way home. That made for a long day.

I’m glad you have an engine, kinda sad i’m out of 6 liters, and sad my rolling storage box is gone.  My lungs are sad that we spent an hour and a half in the cold, that kicked my butt.  Glad someone with more resources (forklift) is pulling the van engine this time

fyi all the exhaust manifold studs are good, i’m the one that bolted the Y pipe on.  Belt tensioner is new, think the lower radiator hose is too.

Should we tell them how we managed to pull the tilt trailer back up with the van on it.

Have at it, hindsight says we should have video’ed it.  Your trailer’s function in theory  is excellent on dry pavement, 4” of snow over gravel not so much.

Today would have been perfect. There was a light snow covering the parking lot making it extra slippery.

Don't worry Pat I think I have a spare set of suburban wheels and tires that will fit.

I had typed this up earlier but do to working on a different project that required a computer restart I'll have to try again.

Van story time: Story note, there was around 5" of snow on the ground.

1. Pat had me park at the neighbors house because his driveway is nicer for trailering. He forgot to inform the neighbor of this, so the police were called. After thinking it over the neighbor called Pat, Pat confirmed it was one of his friends and the neighbor called the police off.

2. Had to unload Pat's storage shed, the van, mainly into the S10 from Jacksonville. I keep trying to sell different people of the idea of using the van body as a storage shed now.

3.  Put the battery in the van and jump started it. Drove it over around the neighbors driveway.

4. Tilted my trailer down, if you have never seen a tilt trailer tilt you are missing out.

5. Took about ten tries with the van spinning its tires and me to line the van up perfectly to get the van the whole way onto the trailer. The rear passenger side tire ended up hanging off the side about 2".  The whole van overhung by about 2.5'.

6. Pat and I strapped down the front of the van.

7. Now comes the tricky part tilting the trailer back up to its original position. Normally I use wheel chocks to hold the wheels of the trailer still as I pull the bed of the trailer back up. With the snow on the ground this didn't work very well. That and my work truck that we use as our plow truck kind of sucks in the snow. Pat was amazed our 2007 Ford has manual locking hubs in the front. At this point we started to question if I was going to get the van tilted back up onto the trailer to take it home with me.

8. Pat comes up with the brilliant idea to hook one of my extra tie down straps to the bottom the the trailer to his truck. He would pull the part that is supposed to stay still while I pulled the trailer forward to tilt the trailer up. At this point we both hop into our respective trucks and have a tug of way with the trailer, spinning tires in the snow in the neighbors driveway. This actually worked, my truck and trailer wasn't straight because of the spinning but the bed of the trailer was now pulled into position to toe.

9. Tied down the back of the van. Made an exchange of money and paperwork.  We came to the conclusion we should have had someone video tape the raising of the trailer to put onto youtube.

10. Had a tough time pulling out of Pat's neighbors driveway through the snow, had to get a little running start when no cars were coming.

11. Made it onto the highway where I realized the weight balance of the trailer didn't like going more than 62mph. I set the cruise at 60mph and had a relaxing ride home. I didn't have to pass anyone on the 70mph roads. Took me 1.5 hours longer to get home.

Other life things,

Put my snow tires on the mustang and put my Reindeer outfit on to please the wife.

Used the vinyl cutter my wife purchased me for my birthday for the first time to make Christmas ornaments for the people and kids that participate in her classroom at school. I tried telling her small letters would be difficult but she didn't believe me until it was time to transfer the vinyl.

Someone once told me that, "if you have 5 minutes to work on the project use that 5 minutes."

Removed hood and intake of RX7.

Trying to convince my wife I need an old ramp truck to tow my cars to events.

Only progress is a new trailer to tow with. My wife admitted I’m not allowed to have time to work on the car. Signed a new deal at work a few weeks ago that is going to take up even more of my time. Probably going to lighten the Infiniti and repaint it before the challenge.
