Car should conform to SCCA as much as possible. Can’t say I read the rules too often though, I did for the battery shut off
Should be pretty light just judging it from pushing it, even with the motor
I was sorta just planning on hdpe type events for now, really haven’t looked into any classes. There used to be a v8stockcar series
edit: also really haven’t been able to get to work on this thing as much as I’d like to lately
Found why the transmission wouldn’t go all the way in, hitting on the starter.
Really good at taking it out and putting it in now on my back
Made a little baby shifter boot
I ordered butler built leg braces medium and large, they’re huge, way too big, just ordered small ones now
redid the dash supports a little narrower so they switches sat better and welded them in also
I Like the look.
a guy a few doors over just bought 2 arca cars at an IRS auction, 1 mostly complete a dodge, with new engine ,90% car no brakes.
A Yota with no drive train, but is a 105' wb Car started life as a Chip Ganassi car, the Dodge was a Ray Evernham car, nice but getting Old and don't really fit even ARCA anymore
Should be pretty decent, going to paint everything with textured black paint.
They seem to be pretty cheap for what they are, I kind of didn’t stick to my budgeted plan though.
Not sure what my long term plans are for it, hdpe for the beginning at least
Am considering, maybe even something I can daily, Miata probably is out of the question for that. C5 corvettes seem cheap these days also
should be going to watch you guys this weekend at Daytona, I’ll have to scope out some cars
Need to make the Swoopy panel for the other side then drill a bunch of holes to mount the panels. I bought thumb screws to use instead of the cam locks, hopefully I don’t regret it
On the hpde front: have you been out on track ever? First few events it doesn't matter what you're driving honestly (as long as it's reasonably safe), at Sonoma I saw Prius and all other kinds of cars in novice. Really the lower the limits on tires and power make it easier to learn. I'd try and get out there in whatever you can. Hell, I've seen a few Miata on grm that'd be great for it for ~1000 (add brakes and a roll bar) and probably recoup it when you finish this mean little number. Racingjunk.com in the lemons section are usually decent starter cars, etc.
That bit of unsolicited advice aside, this build is fun to follow! It'll be a quick car when you're done.
I’ve really on autocrossed, it was a larger auto cross track but still not a track.
I need to jump on a decent deal when I see one, probably can get a decent bmw for less than 5k that I could also daily drive
I tend to go too extreme on projects, always have had more fun beating on stocks vehicles though

Reading back, I shouldn’t have made this statement
