I live in Switzerland / Lucerne. I drive racetracks in Europe. I bought the Corvette in 2009 with 28000km. Until 2015 I kept improving the car, using it on the road and on the racetrack. I reached 106000km in total. Used only for fun. From 2015 to 2018 I built a real C5-R GT1 Le Mans racing engine. In 2018 I began to completely dismantle the car and build it from scratch as a racing car. Completion is planned for mid-2025/26. I manufacture 80% of all parts myself, create CAD drawings and welds, turn, finished carbon parts myself, etc. I work out CNC milled parts and complicated CAD drawings as well as sintered parts with a friend and engineer. All the money for the project comes from my own pocket.
The effort for this project is great, but the end can be seen. The engine wiring harness, engine control unit, roll cage, fire extinguishing system, steering wheel with dashboard and the underbody still need to be completed.
