After a few years of running around in a wildly non-competitive SCCA SM SVX with 5 speed swap I bit the bullet earlier this year and ordered an Exomotive Exocet Race chassis. The chassis is a few weeks out and I need to get my tail in gear on tearing down my donor.

Exocet Race chassis w/windshield Porsche Silver powdercoated frame Ultramarine Blue body panels

Miata donor '01 Miata 1.8 donor w/~60k 6 speed trans Koni Yellow dampers FM front and rear anti-sway bars

Braid wheels-15x8, 0 offset, titanium grey Tires-soon to ordered RE-71

I'll be working with Paul at Team Illuminata Motorsports who has graciously agreed to host the build at his shop! Thanks Paul!

Thanks to Paul and my understanding wife, I purchased new wheels and tires for the wreck! Braid Fullrace 15" x 8", 0 offset in titanium grey and Bridgestone 205/50-15 RE-71R.

Last Wednesday, Steve from Stewart Transport brought me my new Race chassis and bodywork! What an awesome set-up they have to bring in the kit. 52' trailer with internal crane and dolly! Brilliant!

Porsche Silver powdercoat, RAL 9002 blue body work with integral windshield mounting system. I was a giddy boy Wednesday!

A bunch of shout outs here

Kevin and Taylor at Exomotive and Jolene and Steve at Stewart Transport made this a great transaction at a great price!

In order to make best use of the space Paul offered me, the answer came to my house. My wife and my father-in-law helped get it on a borrowed trailer (Thanks Tony!) and bring it to my house were it is the first car in our garage since we moved in just before our first son was born in '08. Last Saturday and Sunday my dad and I worked to get my long dormant compressor wired up to continue the tear down.

June 15: The chassis is a few weeks out and I need to get my tail in gear on tearing down my donor.

I guess 20 qualifies as "a few". And good hustle to get the Miata pulled apart!

You're cluttering up my thread with Audi Paul! Thanks for the translation though. I'm OK with a party at TIM North! You can even climb in the chassis and make motor noises while we push you around as it's on two dollies now.

Is Tom really referring to the lovely lady I met at your home and at the pool Adrian? Surely not.
