Keep reading... he revises them and ends up making them into true dust shields.
Again... this isn't a performance build, but merely OCD levels of attention to detail and some incredible workmanship.
But i figured some here wouldn't like that. No worries, I'M certainly not offended.

Midlana. Mid-engine two seater with a strong Lotus Super Seven slant. Basically a Seven adapted to use modern FWD powerplants.
Not really the norm around here, as this buggy is a pint sized rock crawler. Guy built the raddest little 2 seater buggy for his little girl as a Christmas present.
Mid engine FWD Honda 1.6l and trans mounted longitudinally, spiders welded, no transfer case, drive shaft for front and rear Samurai axle are driven directly off of modified CV axles.
I remember reading this one in real time, and checking in on Christmas day for his daughter's reaction. There are continued updates of modifications, and the girls continuous improving driving skills, including videos of her flat out getting it, and showing up other "professional" drivers.

This is a little different than most build threads. Most include OMFGAWESOME hi res pics of the build, list the trials and tribulations of dealing with a less than stellar specimen, creative solutions to unforseen problems etc etc etc...this has all that. But then, there are post after post and vid after vid of the on track action the car sees, along with incredibly detailed posts about each event the car attends. What an AWESOME thread
