Mid-day work avoidance led me to rummaging in my spare exhaust parts bin. I put together what should be a nice and clean mounting setup for the exhaust.
Hopefully we button that up tonight as well as get the bed on, bed liner in, lights etc. Then we can move to tearing apart the front end for control arms, lowering springs, eccentric camber bushings, shocks, brakes, and wheel bearings...

Ok dokey, exhaust and rear suspension are all wrapped up nicely. Survived a test drive around the hood.
Now onto the front end and mechanicals.

In other news a set of Mustang Bullits were procured on the cheap. Some fresh Kumho's are on order as well. Waiting on some sonax to arrive to get them cleaned up. Have to pull all the face mounted wheel weights and sand put the curbage on one wheel ahead of mounting.

I want to dick punch every tire tech who slaps rim weights onto aluminum wheels.

Don't care about the backside but the rim face?
In reply to 84FSP :
Oh yeah!
The Bullits are going to look great on the truck. Nice choice ✔️

Thanks - I think they'll look good. I was surprised that they are actually decently light. Given the raging 112Hp it left the factory with in 01 I didn't want to eat up too much hp in the name of handling/looks.
Gotta tear into the front end as it is completely roached. Then a tune up and a buff. Lots of littles after but no show stoppers.

So prep day and just a few bits to be done in the raging heat.
Bit of a test prep while she's up in the air to start soaking bolts.

Got the boy on an air filter and gapping plugs.

Those wheels really look good on the black truck!
That lowered rear end may help, but I can confirm that my last Ranger (a '97 with 3.0 v6) was downright unsafe on the slick winter roads of central KY. I also recommend sand up near the back of the cab, in the bed.
I love the direction this resurrection is going!
Loved my little Ranger. Fun trucks.
The perfect wheels for that truck!

I'll definitely be doing sand bags in the rear end for winter. I'm hopeful that fresh tread and the lowered suspension will make it a bit better. It is however still an old truck. This is first and foremost a learning to drive vehicle so crap weather skill development is part of the plan.
The way that is looking, there are going to be some kids at the school with much more expensive cars that are going to envy this.
Please align center caps with valve stems. Details make the difference!

I get it - have to get another pair of center caps and make sure they clear the dustcovers on the front hubs.

Eh hope so, having him have the pride in doing the work to make it nice will help as well.
