Bed next. Ended up having my buddy who does some body work put a wheel tub in it and patch a spot on the floor. Underside was decent. Scraped, ground and painted.

Thanks, I'm hoping what I've done makes it so there's something worth restoring with my son in ~10 years.

Damn. That will be 2030 and the truck will be almost 35 years old! If it's not against the law to drive internal combustion vehicles by then it will be pretty sweet!

At the one lane bridge, you can leave the giants stranded at the riverside.

That song was 10 years before my time, but as Rush fan, I'm delighted to see and understand this reference.
Wow a great truck AND a Rush reference.
10/10 would read this thread again.
(Still my favorite concert I've ever been to btw)
I frequently see a lot of 1-ton duallys of the GMT400 platform, and I'd be in denial if I said I didn't want one with a 454.
Though my favorite Chevy pickup remains the round-eye squares.

definitely a square fan
would have one or more of every generation if I could!
not much to report here
would love to get a locker before winter
a cap for winter would be nice if I could find a reasonably priced one
hood is getting rusty, should get a cowl one at some point I guess
eventually I'll need to do some body work and paint, maybe try to get into it in the spring
i want to completely strip the interior, replace the evap core and get the ac working, replace rear speakers, clean up wiring, swap pass side seat with better one I have, fix some loose plastics and do some sound deadening/insulation
i have a new denali truck cat back I may see if I can fit
need to decide if I really want to go solid axle and start gathering those parts
and on and on
Really need to clean off the frame on my Sierra and coat it but can never seem to find the extra time to mess with it
Denali cat back could have been made to fit but not worth the effort required.
Thinking about a drop in locker for the 10 bolt before winter. Probably should pony up for the SF14 but the 10 bolt is already there and I could move the locker over to the 2wd truck.
Some play in the left upper ball joint. Greased that and the rest of the front end.
So, talk to us about a locker install....
How bad are they in a 10 bolt? Simple bolt in, or special tools and math?
If I did the 10 bolt it would be "lunchbox" or drop in locker that just replaces the spider gears so no gear setup. Just pull out the axles and the crosshaft and spiders and "drop in".
I wouldn't do a full locker in a 10 bolt.
I wanted to get a locker in the rear of the truck but I didn't want to spend much on the 10 Bolt that I was/am replacing. Went with a Spartan, under $300 on Amazon. Easy install, took a few hours.
