I really dig the front bumper! I haven’t yet made one for my X, but it is on the list. Are your turbine wheels actually 4x98 or is there something else going on? There is a rust bucket for sale about 4 hours from me with a very similar wheel I was thinking of inquiring about

These are true 4x98. Made by Western Wheels

Obviously yours look much nicer but I think these may be the same wheel. It also looks like a typo in the price; it seems to have an extra zero.
That could be a fun project, but the front fenders don't easily come off. There might still be some others out there, and yes the price seems a tad high. The front fenders are welded on just like the rear quarters. Any fiat will have some rust, but that uch rust and bent metal, that could be a lot of work....

The 74 bumpers are the most rare and desirable, so if they are there you could potentially graft them onto your car.
Otherwise it’s a rough candidate to start with unless you’re building a pure race car and you don’t mind cutting away everything that isn’t needed to support that.

Gumby, when you got this car were you dead set on an X1/9 or were you looking for something to fill the role of “sports car”. Got any future mods planned? Still thinking of turboing?
Also that tail light conversion is so cool looking. Do people always ask “what kind of car is that?”

Original shopping criteria was open top sports car, cheap, outside my comfort zone, and not a Miata. Mid-engine was bonus points.
The future of this project is still undetermined. It is a fun second car and does attract alot of attention! However, I am also feeling a strong pull to get back on my long neglected Tbird....and there is an Fmod chassis in the corner too....
