I have looked on and off for the past 10 years hoping to find a deal on a bright atlantic blue 98 cobra. For anyone who doesnt know, this was the only year this color was produced on the 94-98 sn95 bodys. Other than the color it is the same as everyother 96-98 cobra. a 4 valve dohc 4.6 mated to a tremec t45 5 speed.
Luckily i found this one with a locked up motor. It has some suspension goodies and is in great shape! i wound up picking it up for 2k even. i already have more mustangs than i need, but i will hang on to this one for a very long time. in good shape, these cars are roughly 10k, soley because of the color alone. they are very hard to find. this car is 1 of 550ish made. i have a spare motor i am building for it now, but i was just so excited to grab it i had to share it on here.

Generally not a fan of those years, but that color does a lot for it. Nice score
In reply to Mr_Asa :
it is definitely a love or hate body style. but its probably my favorite color ever produced on a car.
I used to dislike them, but I'm actually starting to like the look of them more than the termis. Nice ride!
Is it me, or are those rear tires way too small?

Remind me when I do end up buying a E36 M3ty mustang to bug you. You don't live super far from me.
That's a good color on that car
That is a seriously great color, and you got a steal on it. Well bought.
I have wanted a 96-98 Cobra forever, I keep hoping one will show up at a good price, but I want black-on-black in good shape...and they are always too expensive.
In reply to Wicked93gs :
Yea their values are coming back up. I just bought a black on black 96 but it had a nasty knock and i parted it.
In reply to Mndsm :
Anytime, always happy to help.
In reply to Professor_Brap :
Agreed. Arguably one of the best colors produced on a mustang.
I've had mine since 2002. Started autocrossing it in 2004 and its still my "backup" car. It was the first car that was mine, I cant bring myself to sell it. I've thought about it a few times, I never drive it much, but I just can't.
I am to the point where I am thinking about throwing $5k at it to supercharge it (from 305hp to 450hp) to keep it interesting... more than 450hp would require new rods/pistons, so its a natural limit. That said, I have an open wheeler to race, so I might keep it stock motor-wise.
When I say I dont drive it much... its got 60k on it.
In reply to Apexcarver :
nice! They are very fun and capable cars. very under estimated imo. My only advice if you do throw a vortech, procharger, etc at it. just buy a used kit. I cant tell you how many i have bought used for 2k or less. then you can use that extra budget somewhere else. some just want new and thats fine too, but you do not have to spend near that much if you dont want to.

That's a nice color and 2k is a great price. I've always loved the look of these Cobras. My wife couldn't understand when I bought one but it's a Steeda built car so I couldn't pass it up. Lol. Mine has a rod knock so it's in line for a build. Hopefully sometime soon.

Yeah, I just looked and the kit I was interested in is gonna be almost $7k...
Hell, kennie bell is only $3,800, so thats a better consideration.
If you do have any advice on where to look for a used kit... I need to start watching FB marketplace more.
In reply to Apexcarver :
Marketplace. Craiglist, heack even ebay. Recently there was one for around 2k.
I'm jealous of all these Mustangs you find for cheap. All I ever find is broken Escorts and Probes...lmao somehow I turned into a compact sport geek. I need a Mustang to return to my redneck roots.
I must say, I really like that rear wing.
In reply to slowbird :
Step 1: move to florida
Step 2: search craigslist
Step 3: take your pic of tons of mustangs that pop up daily for cheap lol

There's a shop near me in Orlando that strips mustangs. He gets some SC kits every once in a while. He has a FB page; Mustang Parts Reaper.
