I finally had the brakes looked at. My friend with the garage and 3 lifts let me know that apparently the front rotors were bad, but the pads looked almost new. The rear brakes were fine.
We're wondering if maybe the PO just replaced the pads when they felt bad and didn't check the rotors? I picked it up today after finally getting a ride over to Xenia to pick it up. Drove completely normal - 2 rotors, 1hr labor - $300.
I was ready to replace everything if needed.

I did some garage stuff recently, a bit on the GR Corolla. But while I was there and in warmer weather, I replaced the harness in the Celica. Bought from someone here fairly cheap, I'd like to put the lap belts in but not sure I could keep the OEM seatbelt and would wear that 99% of the time. Apparently when the PO restored the interior he covered up any spots where a harness would have mounted.

Even with the new harness being a 2017 version, it beats the well-worn 1997 bits.

One way or another, I'm getting the car autographed in September! Huber Heights is like 20 minutes away, Cincinnati would be maybe 45 minutes. I'll pay for a VIP meet n greet. Whatever it takes.
In reply to Jerry :
Oh, totally, you have to get the car signed.

I don't see any VIP Meet n Greet events on either location. Sad trombone. I just emailed the Rose (venue in Dayton) to see if they plan to have one or can arrange something extra. I offered to purchase whatever ticket I had to.

I've been trying to figure out how to contact him. His website has no email/messaging link. Facebook account no message link. Not sure if I feel like trying X/Twitter just to contact and find out he's not there either.
Apologies if it's already been asked, but have you verified whether it's Dwight Yoakam the singer, or Dwight Yoakam the dentist that owned the car?
In reply to Peabody :
From a bringatrailer listing where this sold a while back:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1990-toyota-celica-gt-4/
"This 1990 Toyota Celica GT-S was initially built for use in the 1990 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race in Long Beach, California, during which it was reportedly driven by country singer and actor Dwight Yoakam."
I do not believe a dentist would be racing in the Celebrity race series.

See also the Youtube video in the initial post of Mr Yoakam driving this car in the race.
Are you gonna just pop off the glovebox door and have him sign it? would certainly be cool

I am not too far from Verona so I checked to see what was available for meet and great or special tickets there. They didn't have any but TIL that Dwight Yoakam tickets are popular, it is almost sold out and tickets to that are 4-5X what they are to see Counting Crows at the same venue next month.

Dropped off the Celica at a local vinyl shop that gave me a decent $, has 15+ years experience, and I recognize quite a few cars in his online gallery from Cars and Coffee events. Dropped off Monday while I was off for my b'day, he said it might be a week or so. Which includes tracing the designs, ordering the colors, and removing the 35 year old vinyl.
Yesterday he emailed this design and said "After looking over images, Donny's car (Osmond from another photo) and the video you had posted I would say the colors are Toyota's Baja Red, Orange, Yellow scheme." I concur.
If I'm lucky, it'll be ready this weekend and the GF can take me to pick it up in Tipp City.
Super cool, cant wait to see the update

I don't know much about his singing but Dwight is a hell of a good actor and had teamed up with Billy Bob Thornton on more than 1 occasion. Sling Blade would be his most famous role I guess - where Billy Bob killed him with a lawnmower blade.
Uh, spoiler alert! Jeeze.
I'd set the car up for rally or rallycross. Why? Yokum's ex, Sharon Stone, once compared kissing him to "eating a dirt sandwich".
