I think of 400s as a '90s thing. You could get them cheap back then so the thinking was "Why not?" Like every "Real Street" GM drag car in 1998 had a 406. But then cost escalated and there were other ways of making power instead of starting with 50 more CI such as LS, turbos and wet nitrous.
