I've gotten rid of all my old 2.3t parts and will never go that route again. I'd do a 5.0 before a 2.3t. Dealt with those things far to many times in the past.
What makes you not like the 2.3t's? I just recently also picked up a B2300 and was planning on going the turbo route. interested to get your opinion.
+1 man point for no guard on grinder being wielded one-handedly.

80s technology will leave you stranded.
Now if you wanted to ditch the dizzy and crappy wiring they aren't bad. Only way I'd go this route would be using a stinger pimp setup.
But the cost and weight of a 2.3t really just doesn't make since. They basically weigh the same as a sbf and take almost as much room.
Stinger and bopart are really the only ones I'm aware of still in the 2.3t game.
But hot rod garage did a build up of a turbo coupe not that long ago.
But you can buy a crate SBF for less than you'd have into a 300hp 2.3t. But the engine are pretty tough, if memory serves me right it's not until 400hp+ that you have to start to worry about the bottom end.

Yeah, the guard was in the way at some point and i didn't put it back on. I do usually have it on when cutting, since I've had disc blow up.
Atleast I had my bionic face shield on. Lol

good to know, my truck is a 96 so it's OBD2 so i was planning on tuning with SCT through the stock ECM. I figure dropping forged pistons in it then slapping on a turbo and supporting stuff I could hit 300 whp reasonably easy.
In reply to edizzle89 :
300whp is going cost some $. The hot rod guys made 278whp with a precision ball bearing turbo , bopart cam, gutted 180 intake, a pimp, edis, etc.
If you really want to go that route check out Stinger Performance, Bopart, and turboford.org
I used to have a buddy obsessed with the 2.3t. He made some good power, then he realized he could throw a turbo on a v8 and make alot more power for the same money.
If the engine dies in this it get a v8, most likely a 5.3. Hopefully it doesn't die.
So left this parked and untouched.
My brother in law was asking about it for my nephew.
So I finally started working on it again.
Not alot has happened I put in a new fuel pump and sending unit and built an exhaust and that's where how I left it a year ago.
Now I sold a banshee to a guy in San Antonio and told him I would deliver.
While I was there I picked up a stepside bed and wheels with 31s on it.
Of course I decided to do it on a day that it was 15 and snow ( crazy Texas weather this year)
Changed the stance a bit.
Then I tossed the stepside bed on.
Since I don't have a stepside bumper decided to pull the bumper. Then I decided on pulling the fronts too.
Now I got distracted building a front bumper.
A leftover piece of 3x3 1/8 wall tubing.
A few kerf cuts later.
A little welding and you get a curved piece.
Not finished but as far as I got today.
This is going to be a badass little beater/off-roader!
