I added nord-lock washers to the turbo flange nuts and wastegate mounting hardware on my rally car years ago- I spent a long time fighting with the hardware loosening with time and a bunch of heat cycles- might be something to consider while the motor is out and on a stand. It's hard to tell how difficult that hardware is to access once it's in the car. Beautiful motor, that's going to be sick!

Just a quick note to let you know that it wasn't a unique braking solution. It had been tried in the '50s and was abandoned in the '60s.
I was really surprised to see this in your post, as I had no idea it was ever revived.
