And I have already misplace the antenna mast for the car.
When to a club get together today. That was the Maryland Miata Club and I hope to get out there with those guys again real soon!
My M was added to the club registry. (I didn't know people tracked that sort of thing.) And another member has a 95 Merlot M also and it is equipped with Panasport wheels. I was looking online at a used set in Virginia. I guess I will pass on those now.
I have a short list of thing that I have to attend to on the car and here they are in no particular order.
- Rewire radio. It has direct power and can be left on. That should be a simple fix. (Don't quote me on that.)
- Flush brake system
- Fix parking brake. Car can roll when brake handle is pulled all the way up. Maybe calipers, maybe cables. Doesn't matter.
- Fix horn. No beep. Sad face.
- Change all fluids
- Cruise control does not work
- Replace shift knob with something better. There is really nothing wrong with the one that is on there.
- Fill gaping DIN hole under radio with block off plate or custom plate with auxiliary gauges
- Fix fuel smell. Yuck.
- Tires are probably aged out. I am afraid to look. Will drive anyway.
- The poor car has wheels from a Scion on it. No, just no. Anybody giving away Rota Slipstreams or original BBS wheels?
- Clean the car and clean some more. The car received it's first wash today. It looks a bit better.
- Replace instrument cluster housing. She broke.
Bigger issues that will wait. Both 1/4 doglegs have some rust and a bit in the rockers. Top needs replaced. And of course other body work and paint. And it probably needs all 4 shocks.
Remember! Buy the best car you can afford!
