Have you done a leak down to ensure it's the head gasket? Then try retorquing the head. Twice on my race car the gasket leaked a little (13-1 compression) both time I just re-torqued it after running a tap and die down the threads.

Still hunting for a working fuel tank selector unit. Really just waiting for fall college classes to start. She can drive it with one working fuel tank.
The real problem she has is parking space.
Once that is figured out then I can start on my 1972.
