taillight panel, trunk, and trunk gutters done.
I ain't got much in me today. Yesterday was an 18 hour day of driving, loading and unloading datsun parts with me playing strong man. We're going to my folks for lunch and ill see how i feel afterwards.
Hand sanding is still bumper covers, and under side of the hood.
Exterior needs final wet blocking.
Then pressure washer to get dust/dirt out of everything. Finish painting interior with a brush. Wash car again with red scotchbrite pad and dawn. Yhen load to take to booth.
apparently i had three good hours in me.

All the water reflections look pretty good from what I can see.
Art will be by to see as well.
Underside of the hood, core support to finish and the main body parts are ready for final prep andcolor. I think. Still need to prep the bumper covers too. Art is doing what he can with decklid and fenders.
I was thinking of your build after watching a Doug Demuro review of probably the only unmolested SRT4 left in the world. I feel you may be ahead of the collector car curve by restoring this one.

That is looking pretty good. I might be more excited about paint than you are!

I think I may be as well. I really see the 90s econo box hot models being the next muscle car boom.

Fantastic!
It's a struggle to not rush at this point

to my untrained eye, this is looking really promising

God i hope you and nohome are right!
I really shouldn't have manhandled a datsun 240z engine off the stand and into the truck by hand by myself yesterday.
Im sure as berkeley NOT 16 anymore. Wonder how long im going to pay for this....

But you'll never be able to berk like a 16 year old again.
Art came by a few minutes ago.
He says body is ready for paint. So are the doors. Bumper covers need more work, front of core support and u der side of hood.
He took the decklid off E36 M3box to use. The one from this car was too far gone from blasting damage. Says fenders should be done today, decklid by the end of the week.
So, next steps in order:
1. Finish prepping bumper covers
2. Final sand front of core support.
3. Remove hood, final sand underside and hinges
4. Pressure washer and dawn
5. Tow to paint booth
Bumper covers are done.
Hood off, half the underside is prepped. Hands are done for the day.
Interior paint is finished as well.

Day two: hurt less. Still more than sore though.
You know those nights where your brain is going a million miles a minute with "can't sleep, clowns will eat me"?
Might as well be productive.

Ill call arts boss about the booth in a little while, and then the rollback that takes all my free scrap metal to see if i have given him enough for a free ride.
Today is going to suck with three hours of sleep.....
Also, the water reflections show this thing to be dead flat and almost flawless. Heres to hoping clearcoat shows the same.

Thanks stampie. Im nervous and paranoid that something will go horrifically wrong and ruin all my work.....
Should be able to spray this weekend!!!

Im going to cross post to the main forum, but ask here as well.
I need to recondition the rubbery/plasticy window trim. Been scrubbing with glass cleaner and a paper towel, but they are faded, discolored, and have overspray on them the roof weatherstripping rail and roof mouldings bein the worst.
What/how do i restore them? These are the best ive found. and new are not available.

Seconded. That's the good stuff.
So, im sold on that stuff for the weatherstripping and door guts. But what about the rubbery/plastic channel that olds the weatherstripping above the door, the rear window surround stuff, and beltline piece? Especially the stuff with overspray?
