Played a little with Omni brakes when I got home. Someone pinched the line and the pinch is leaking. Here goes the fun tomorrow.
Had to shut er down due to Nascar starting here in a few.
first Congrats on the engagement!
second, gravel sucks, a piece of 3/4" plywood, 2'x4' makes it much easier to jack. yeah I've worked on gravel a lot!
third, no ideas on wheels, sorry.

It's on a hunk of wood. I much prefer gravel to grass.
Burned in my new seat mount, it definitely needs prettied up, but will do for now. Took it for a drive to know the cobwebs off.
I need to tune on the carb some more, the car is ultra rich at cold start and doesn't stay idling. I'm thinking it's either a electric choke issue or a sticking power valve.
Good before picture... sprayed it down with full strength purple power , drove to car wash and the fun began.
after:
the amount of grubby is unreal, it needs this process like 2-3 more times atleast. The sprayer at carwash quit working so that cut me short
I'm in love with the wheels on your blue Omni.
Where are you getting new shift rods? Is it from Turbo Dodge Parts?

The wheels are blue car are Mopar catolog wheels.
I am getting shift rods from turbo dodge parts. Steven is a great guy to deal with. I got a set that I made in the red Omni.

Sounds like a pressure washer is in your future. Worth every penny for gunk like this.
Also those Holley carbs are junk, the throttle shafts wear out very quickly and cause all sorts of idle issues. The carb tops warp easily and also cause drivability issues. They were cast from pot metal (the same junk on the door handles). The "computer" controlled ones on the standard cars were even worse since you had a carb being controlled by the sort of rube goldberg like devices that Bosch used on various forms of CIS.
Ditch it for Megasquirt with a turbo intake/fuel rail, TBI off a later K-car or Weber 32/36 and H.O. ignition module. Any of those would make life better for you. I have spare intakes, TB's and fuel rails if you're interested.
Unless of course you were interested in a Mopar Supercharger setup for the 2.2? I don't have the lower pulleys (but I could make them as part of the deal) but I have the blower, intake, valve cover and a dual sidedraft Weber adapter plate for the top (solves the hood clearance issue, but works fine with a Weber downdraft).

I got a monster of a pressure washer. It's tucked away for winter.
Car has a Weber 32/36 on it, I have considered putting all the tbi stuff on this car out of red car, but I want it for a future rampage. I have a feeling it needs a good tune-up and tuned for a colder climate.
I'd be very interested in the sc set-up, fire me a message or text me. That would be super cool on this car.
Would you be interested in a nearly free running and driving 2001 Neon? It's got some rust on the rear wheel wells and rockers but it's not through....underside is surprisingly solid and it's got new lower control arms with new ball joints and bushings....rear SRT4 struts. The car needs a wheel cylinder and it's got a pinhole leak in the rad otherwise I'd drive it every day. It's the most reliable car I've owned sadly... I live in an apartment and I can't fix it there....plus I have 3 project cars already. I hate to send it to the junkyard and nobody wants it. :(
Let today's fun begin. So around 5-2018 I overhauled the rear brakes on the black neon.
Rebuild calipers, new rotors, all new parking brake shoes and hardwear, new pads.
Started hearing a brake noise this week, all the pads on the car are super dusty and noisy, so I took a few hard stops and it went away.
Got a griding noise last night so decided to check it today..... Glad I did.
