Put on my final decal for prep for carlile! WOO!
Four 20 something year old people hop in to a purple dodge neon to go to carlile PA....
We leave the house at 6pm and we spent the first tank of gas setting at like 75mph on cruise control. We get gas at like 10:30pm ish and when we went to leave the fuel pump is pretty noisy and somehow the fuse for the cigarette lighter popped. ...... This is not a good start to the trip. After checking I grabbed a spare fuel pump and replacing the fuse we are back on the road.
We drive for another hour or so and it all went down hill from there......
Side of the highway somwere in WV at 11:30pm on Friday the 13th..... awesome. Edit: This is post changing the tire and putting the doughnut on the rear.
The most frustrating part of all of this is the tire that blew was the newer set of the 2..... 2017 date code tires with 1100 miles on them..... I balanced and checked tire pressures before we left.
We get to the nearest town and try to get a hotel. Took 3 tries to find one with a room.....
Better picture of the damage:
Picture of before they valet the car into the parking garage.
We drank at the hotel and tried to enjoy the situation best we could.
The next morning I called around to see who had 2 14in tires in stock and could do it today. I found a place, and it has a great name!
The tire didnt explode. It delaminated. I mailed the tire to mastercraft HQ state side because they need to see it.
We made the drive back home fine screaming fuel pump and all.... When we got home we decided to pull it apart to see the damage.....
PS fender, Bumper, Marker light, Marker light wiring, radio antenna and a fender liner.... I fell like I got pretty lucky.
We all signed and dated the fender to hang in the living room
End of the day it sucks we didnt make it, but im glad everyone is ok and the car is not a total loss. Things could have went alot worse.
I had a fender liner and radio antenna in my stash so thats a plus.
Hopefully will pull the fender and the bumper from the junkyard tuesday and have it good to go again by the end of the week.

Tows a trailer better than a neon.
is this by chance your montaro?
2000 GMC Sierra 1500. It should get around the same gas mileage as the Montero so there isn't a reason to pay registration and insurance on both.
The start of dropping the old building, got it down last night, had to drag it out of between the house-new building-tree.
Got it down and mostly took to the land fill. We filled up my trailer and a 15x6 trailer.
There is only about one neon load of wood left.
Bonus picture of drunk me at the hotel. Mimicking the younger folk and there big wheeled cambered out g35 that were taking photos there also.
Also, its really a truck
Well got vehicles moved were they are out of the way.
This weekend we removed a 20'X30' by 8'' thick concrete pad up by the house that was sloping the wrong way that was causing issues with water setting against the house. Alos got 20 ton of dirt for leveling the yard. Thankfully we got rid of almost half of the concrete by filling up our own well and the neighbors well.
We found out there was no block behind the stairs that were at the back door, and the block all the way to corner of the house were setting on dirt and was not holding anything at all so that needs fixed. Got the trench dug and leveled....
Had to grab my chain saw, and weed wacker this morning and almost got the black Neon stuck in my slick as mud.... Note to self, dont park in the dirt when its wet.
Changed the oil and hit all the grease fittings on the R/T and trailer.
Been mostly moving trash out and concrete and trying not to get stuck in the yard.
Grabbed this tractor tire this morning off craigslist free section for my tractor. its brand new.
Also one of my buddies bought a new house and found this and sent it to me.
I had to look at your profile to see where you hailed from.
I saw a Chevy P/U on the way home from work a week or so ago with a plate # of BRAAAP.
Didn't have time to get a pic, tho. But Hey! Who needs a pickup when you've got a Neon, right?
In reply to SaltyDog :
I got vanity plates ordered that are very similar.
Neon does most everything I would normally use a truck for while getting better fuel economy.... And car towing trailers is cool.
Some more its really a truck content. 38 60lb bags of concrete, and 2 80lb bags of mason mix. Around 2500lbs with the boards and plywood.
Car towed it fine, and stopped pretty well to!
Bad girl is tucking.
Also got the block wall prepped to build a form and pour some concrete for a footer.
Got 2 courses done Sunday.
Something that really grinds my gears is when you buy ball joints or control arms with zerk fittings they come with straight fitting. Then you have to take the wheel off to grease them, oh how i love my 90deg zerk fittings.
