OK, few quick updates (as if anyone actually cares). First off, header is leaking. Again. It's coming off for good. Dure, the power up top was fun, the sound is amazing but screw this. So sometime in the near future I'll be pulling this thing one more time.

Secondly... since hte season is long since over for us salt belt people, it was time to go back to a normal suspension. A tick over 3" in height added later and 54 minutes I was done. 3 weeks later, I finally checked the toe. IT was 1/8" out. It was at 1/4" out for nats and the last couple local events. So apparently, changing hte suspension changed toe almost none. Gotta love having that steering arm so low on the knuckle eh? lol

Also considering Stock class for next year. Couple reasons for that. First, I've got about 85% of the handling with the Bilsteins and Koni's as I do with the coilovers. Only, I don't have to worry about early onset kidney failure. Secondly, well there really isn't a secondly. Probably something about being too damn old for harsh riding E36 M3 as a DD and a race car. So time to give up the kiddie stuff or something. Already wrote my letter since every other car on this platform (including the more powerful turbo Veloster) is now in HS. This thing is still in G.

Sounds like a good excuse for a Veloster Turbo.

I think a LOT of people are giving up on STF for similar reasons.

Fwiw I think it can get it done in HS. Have you talked with Jeff Yatsko by chance? He has a 2015 Forte5 SX in NJ prepping to run HS.

That's awesome. That car has 18x8's factory. You can stuff a lot of tire under it!

Yes, I've been working with him a bit(he sold his Mazda2 to get the Forte) to get the suspension sorted out. For some time he was using 2010ish Dodge Caravan rear shocks as a budget solution... they're a direct fit IIRC, length is within a few mm of stock and everything. There is a shock part of a service bulletin that is freaking massive(like... 3.5in OD shock body) that gives a lot of low speed compression, but they were lacking a bit in rebound IIRC. But they're cheap. Veloster stuff fits so I think he's giving Konis a try this year.

Hey OP! I've been lurking on your thread since you directed me this way on FB last year.

I was considering ditching my buster Aveo for a '10-'13 SX last year and was bummed to see it in GS. I wrote a letter (#20058) to the SCCA and it looks like the Forte SX 2.4L is finally going to get moved to HS:

January 2017 SCCA Fasttrack said: #20058 Kia Forte Koup SX (2.4L naturally aspirated) Classed in HS The SAC is recommending the following classing change effective 1/1/2018: Move from GS to HS Kia Forte & Forte Koup (2.4L)

The change won't be effective until 1/1/18 but I may be on the hunt for an SX this year. Would look nice in the garage next to my wife's '15 Sedona.
