That is exactly how it felt on the big end of the dragstrip.

Its the GRM "Shake" its similar to the "Harlem Shake" but its cheaper.

I followed the entire thread because offset engines are cool. Even if it is a wrong side super-modified.....Great job and well deserved.

Hell yeah!

Clearly the windshield with racing pedigree was the key to victory.  wink

Would this technically be the first Mercury-based car to get an overall win?

This is going to be exciting.

Between X71, F-DAT, and LMP360 the Midwest is really stepping our game up for bad ideas.  We have created a veritable Bermuda triangle of Bad Decisions..

Also that cozy coupe looks amazing.

Quoted from page 1.

Oh, how prophetic

Here's where it gets really interesting. Nocones Dan had a faster fun run. I think he did the math that had that been his fastest it would have been a 1-2-3 finish for the BDT

I heart the E36 M3 out of this picture

Don't get too excited for an event wrap up, I simply have not found all my words yet. I am completely overwhelmed with the build, the team effort, the event, the perseverance, and the expectation smashing results. Absolutely astounded. So many thanks to give!

We have said our emotionally conflicted Florida good-byes and are headed back north this morning. TTFN heart

Fantastic work!  This has been really fun to follow along with.  Seeing the payoff for the team makes it that much better.

Congratulations. I have followed all of these builds and the skills and dedication are amazing. For years I worked on Late Models in NC and saw people spending $25k plus on engines and more than that on cars that are built out of a shopping cart. Then they bring them to the track in 6 figure toters and stacker trailers. There is nothing wrong with that but seeing the picture above just rings true of people that love the craft, tons of skill and dedication, regular cab truck towing an open trailer. Old school and wonderful and tons of respect for what your team did.

Are those"skirts" down the sides floating or flexible? I didn't catch that stuff in your build thread.

That dinosaur on the cage is berking brilliant.
If there's a return event for this car, may I suggest something mounted on those skirts specifically to throw sparks? Because I think it'd be neat.

They self-clearanced with each run and were far less scrapey by the end of autoX laugh

My question was, do the cones the car was carrying from the previous runs under the "hood" count for two seconds as well? Or just the cones consumed during the run?  I was cracking up at the amount of cones that thing carried off course. The "oh look, another cone" when the body was lifted after splitting the coolant line.
