Ew, no Vette rims on the M3.
Think the brakes will fit inside 15" Porsche phone dials? If not, are Rota Slipstreams available in the right bolt pattern and offset? Because Slipstreams could look pretty good here as well.
In reply to Harvey:
I don't like the stretched tires, but I definitely like the sawblade style on this body.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to track down two more of the OE rims to complete my set.
In reply to DILYSI Dave:
True re bolt circle, but an 8.5" wide ET56 has the inboard rim surface 1.25" farther inboard than the stock 7.5" wide ET41. Suspension clearance is an issue without spacers, which I sometimes perhaps incorrectly call adapters.
Ask Wheels777 how he completes his extensive builds in such short time and he says "when you only have 30 minutes, do a 30- minute job." Today I had a couple hours to spend, so I knocked out a few 30-minute jobs.
First up was a mild cosmetic improvement at the front of the car. The kidneys and lower grille had bare spots with paint missing after 200k miles, and there was duct tape residue on the hood and front panel from when the hood latches weren't working.
.
Pulling the kidneys and lower grille didn't take long, and separating the kidney surrounds from their grilles was also pretty straight forward.
After a little work with some 220-grit paper (foreground), they were ready for some paint. Three coats of flat black gave the result shown in the background.
.
I shot them with some clearcoat and, while they were drying, I used a little bit of brake cleaner on a cloth to get rid of the duct tape residue on the front sheetmetal. reassembly only took a few minutes, and looked like this:
While I was waiting for each coat of paint to dry, I changed the rear brake pads. I got some AutoSpecialty semi-metallic pads with bonded noise insulators on closeout from RockAuto.com for $12.12 shipped. Sadie definitely needed pads, but the rotors had plenty of usable thickness left so I did not replace them.
.
Budget update:
(1,721.54) previous total.
(8.46) spray paint
(12.12) rear pads
(1742.12) total cost to date.
300.00 recouped to date.
477.88 available balance.

Still not feeling it, but to each their own.
Front end looks a lot better. I cant believe you got 12 brake pads for a BMW, i think my hardware kit cost me that.
How do they work? I once replaced some wagner thermoquiets with some cheapy semi metallics from pepboys and braking was greatly improved. Seems like yhe cheapy semi metallics generally stop well.
Sadie got some lovin' tonight in the form of new front sway bar end links, and I found a pair of the OE 17" DS1 rims to complete my set so I spent a few hours cleaning rims and swapping tires. Saved some $ but I'm gonna be sore tomorrow. Pix and budget update coming soon.
Nice score! Welcome to the challenge friendly E36M3 club :)
I've got about 18 million decent spare parts for the chassis, so let me know if there are any annoying bits that you're on the hunt for... I've got a borderline e30/e36 junkyard in my barn.

Dang, it's been a while since I checked this thread. Golfduke, I need front struts and a rear lower lateral link. With those bits, it will be a decent driver.

Nothing has changed since the last update, so yeah she's still way under budget. I need to study the latest rules to see just how much under, and to learn the criteria she must satisfy to be classified a truck. ;-)

Yes. I didn't post it here because you've all seen my budget and I'm trying to make a couple bucks on it.
You'll need to log in to post.
